  • 1/4 diced onion
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • salt
  • pepper

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumps

Tips, hints and warnings

Of course you can substitute the maccaroni with any other kind aof noodles, other than lasagna maybe 😀 In the pictures I used Fussili.

  • Cook pasta and broccoli together in salted water according to instructions given on the packages
  • In another pot melt the butter
  • Add onion and cook over low heat for about 2 minutes
  • Add the flour to the onions and cook another minute
  • Add milk to flour and onions and bring to boil on a medium to high heat
  • Cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce becomes thick and smooth, stirring frequently. Season with salt and pepper
  • Remove from heat and stir in the grated cheese
  • Combine pasta, broccoli and sauce in one large pot und mix well
  • Grease baking dish with butter or cooking spray
  • Pour everything into the baking dish
  • Top off with a little bit of grated cheese and the breadcrumps
